A smile slid wide across my face as I experienced the beauty of this conversation unfolding
Complete strangers’ elation combining and evolving from questions of linguistics to-
In unison
“PRINCIPESSA!!”
Adoration for “Life is Beautiful”
Radiating from each syllable of each word spoken
Drawn was I
Completely an outsider observing, sensing, experiencing
These two strangers
Gushing about a story of hope

Stranger #1
Somewhat quiet and timid
Upperclass and corporate-ish
Any layer of staunchness or snood melted away as her eyes began to glisten, and sparkle
Teeth quickly, joyfully, reminiscingly revealed

Stranger #2
Joyful and upbeat
Rasta hat adorned dreadhead
Laid back and social
Momentum of speech gained as excitement grew

Recalling the happening I fall in love with the experience
Witnessing the touchstone between two lives
Two paths
Uniting them..even if just for that moment
And above all
That which these strangers adored –
HOPE
