A Mother’s Prayer
November 6, 2008
Lord, I come before you with tear filled eyes.
The child that you gave to me as a precious gift is driving me crazy.
I do all I can to show her love.
I provide her with shelter, food, clothing, and some things that she may want.
She only gets the things she wants when she isn’t misbehaving.
I don’t understand what is going on with her though.
She just turned 15. She had never been suspended from school until after she turned 14 last year. That was for fighting and cussing people out.
The police have brought her home three times for being outside pass city curfew. They said make sure there isn’t a next time. Quite frankly…I didn’t like the way that sounded.
She stole money from her grandma. I heard her bragging about it to her friends.
She told her father to go to h*ll because he told her that all she could do after the football game at school was get something to eat and come home. She wanted to go to a friend’s house.
None of my children have ever disrespected my husband and I like that.
I wanted to plant her where she stood.
Lord, helped me to be patient with my child.
I don’t know what else to do.
She thinks she’s grown and can disrespect people.
She thinks she can do as she pleases.
She has snuck out the house twice in the last month. The second time she got caught before she got down the street good.
My child knows your Word. She knows right from wrong.
It seems as if she changed overnight after her 14th birthday though. I just don’t understand.
She doesn’t like to be around us…her family.
She fought her sister one day and her sister had to go to the hospital.
Lord, guide me to do right by my child and help me to continue showing her love.
I love my child and don’t want to give up on her because you didn’t give up on me.
I pray that you would protect her and keep her safe from danger seen and unseen.
Lord, overall I need you to guide me in what I should do to help my child. I know she is angry but for what I do not know.
I don’t want to give up on her because she is my child and no matter what...that’s the way it will always be.
Lord, please help me as a mother…to be all I can be…help me to continue showing love to my child…help me to help my child…because best of all you did not give up on me.
In Jesus Name I pray
AMEN
