"A Simple Question"
  by mindbenda

I have a lingering question that seems to have no answer worth listening too

but I try...

and ask the little girl jumping rope with a glistening smile on her face
but her inner thought is pure sadness cause she grew up in a fartherless home ,
daddy left while she was still in the womb

or..

maybe I can ask the little boy who sees his drunken old man beat his mom, forcing her to give a blow job he sits crying and feeling week cause he can't stop the beat, rage fills his mind

and a question that I couldn't answer..

I can ask the homeless man who's feet look like aligator shoes who's smell is something awful and has bags of his belongings, his life must be rough but yet people still mock him and judge him
so his mind turns insane cause his only friend is himself...

Maybe the mother of three knows as she stands on the corner with her eyes open wide with a blank
stare rocking back and fourth and her arms heavly armed with needle punctures,
mouth dried like she's been in the deserts sun. She is looking for a score
cause daddy sexually and physically abused her as a child,

she has one question in mind...

Maybe I can ask the 10 year veteran who served his country and lost both his legs over seas but yet the goverment doesn't give him enough income to eat so he becomes a bitter drunk who hates everyone and people now consider him a bad man, now he is shund by society

and... he asks himself one question...

or

let's ask the black man who sits behind bars for a crime he didn't commit but a
skin color he was born with, he deals with hate and stupidity every moment
possible just for the fact that he is black!

And he asks himself....

Let's ask the farther who works two jobs to provide for his child and still makes time to
be there for all their events but the mother removes the kid out of his life and
destroys this mans world, so he does what he feels is nesecery and buys a pistol
and points it to her head

and asks....

We can ask the women who is bieng burried underground cause the two surgeons fucked up her surgery cause they were to busy to pay attention while they were speaking about last nights party, now her family grieves and she doesn't get to she her children grow so on her way to
heaven she..

ask such a simple question....

I can ask God as he sits on his throne and views all his children from up above and he nods his head in shame cause he gave us free will and we use his gift to lie steal and kill, his heart is filled
with sorrow cause we blame him for our own wrong doing and we forgot that he
bestowed the gift of life to us,

so the Lord all mighty asks...

or

i can ask the blind man who walks in a world of darkness missing the simple view of a blue sky
or leaves blowing in the air or of childrens smile or his grandmothers gentle stare, these were all
reality before he walked between the gun fire of a gang rivarly on the way from work. the last thing he saw was the time as he checked his watch, night covered his day at 5:43pm and 5:44pm

he asked himself.....

the sadness in our lives can never be changed, good hearted people get life filled with misery and pain.. we try and stay positive for we do not wana change who we are but we all ask that one simple question... Why... WHy.... WHY!!!
