AyA is a Adinkra Symbol meaning::
"fern"
symbol of endurance and resourcefulness
The fern is a hardy plant that can grow in difficult places. "An individual who wears this symbol suggests that he has endured many adversities and outlasted much difficulty." (Willis, The Adinkra Dictionary)

I am woman
...every woman
Woman is me
From the top of my head
to the soles of my feet
from the arch of my back
to the curves of my assets
I am woman
Every woman
...currently shackled to her past
her insecurities
a false sense of maturity
as allowed me to collapse into myself...
Contrary to popular belief I am hollow
The lines that I bare are
Tally marks...Battle scars
and there are more to follow
I walk a lonely road
Pain has been a constant companion
...shadows a consistent best friend
Strife has been there from beginning to end
But that was not my plan
My demeanor sends
subliminal messages that no one catch
feel like I give it my all
and get nothing back
like I'm a token...
putting my all in hoping
for my reward to be tickets
Ultimately leading to the greatest gift of the all
self assurance
...something to catch my fall
But time after time
Token after Token
I lose the game
It's like im giving pieces of myself away
hoping one day
I'll find my cracked pieces together
pick em up
and re assure myself things'll get better
But they don't
I have to dig deep inside my sanity
to find clarity
Physically holding myself together
Someone has to carry me
This harsh weather has taken a toll on this hollow hole
Paying attention to my physical is hard to do
When im mentally digging for gold
But today my benediction came
God came to me to say
Child...you are like that of an oak tree
The lines you bare are not only
Battle scars
They are a testimony...
Simply stating that you get better with age
You no longer cry tears of pain
Because now you cry the fruits of you labor
So dry those tears away
break those chains of pain
You are free...finally
The shackles are off
clarity is my gift to you...
A ticket worth only one use
...a map
to all the things you lack
all the pieces that are cracked...
get them back
For you are woman...
From the top of you head
to the soles of your feet
you are woman...
From the arch of your back
to the curve of your assets
you are woman...every woman
No longer shacked to your past
The chains are broken at last
