The summer months are unfortunately coming to an end
The greenary is about to change and some of the limbs are about to bend
The grass is about to go dormant and not going to grow
The heat is about to fade and the cold wind is about to blow
But I need someone to keep me warm straight through it all
I need someone to wrap their arms around me right before the leaves fall

The sunlight is starting to fade and the clouds may seem a tad bit small
The phone remains silent, there is no one to pick it up and call
No one on the other end with open arms awaiting for me to enter
No one to help keep me warm through the cold months like winter
Who arms are strong enough to hold me through and through when I call
Who is the one to wrap there arms around me before the leaves fall

When the leaves start to turn into those pretty autum colors and begin to detach
If i was to cold to walk and i accidentally slipped, who arms are ready and open and open to catch
Whose love is warm enough to shelter me in their heart
Someone to keep me safe right when the seasons change from the start
We know the leaves will not stay up forever, they will not stall
But just to have someone to protect me in their arms before the leaves fall

But tis maybe just a fantasy that this beloved boy may have
Some people may find this dream humors and might even laugh
But it would be sumthing if someone made that dream a reality
Someone stepped up to the plate and was there for someone like me
Someone that had their ears open ready to hear the name being called
Ready to wrap their loving arms around me right right before the leaves fall
