"Behind That Smile"
  by dHA BaddEStt biiTChh

Behind That Smile
October 28th, 2008

Smile!
They say, “Put a smile on!”. Sometimes when I smile, its just an expression, not an actual emotion. My expressions are deceiving. Walking around cheesing from ear to ear, acting like nothings wrong, but behind the smile could be an unhappy person. That same girl who I had just seen in the hallway, smiling and jolly, now curled into a ball in the bathroom crying. “Wow, I thought you were the happiest person ever!”, only to be retorted with a slam of the door. We smile, like nothings wrong. Talk, like everything’s perfect. Act like its all a dream, and pretend its not hurting. Everyday walking through the halls and streets wondering, is he or she really happy, or are they hiding behind that beautiful smile? That smile; does it mean that she’s really depressed? He has problems at home? Are they up to something, or nervous? Behind that smile, no one will ever understand. There’s a person behind his smile with so many tears that are being held back. Where she hides. Behind that smile is what he chooses not to show, something no one will ever know. Eaten pain, running from the degradation. Smiles; slowly but surely fade away. Soon being visible to the world, the person that was chosen not to show…
behind that smile.

Real talk I love this one I think ima favorite it. But there is a right and wrong time to smile in my opinion. masking your true emotions behind a smile is not very healthy. those types of hidden feeling can lead to severe discontent. smiles used to prevent discomfort to others emotion are sometimes necessary (i.e. to lie in order to not hurt their feelings). smiles that bury expressions of deceit are definitely unethical. it depends on the person and their perception of life. very nice friend.
