Being So Far From Me

Every night
i try to fight back the tears
the pain is so overwhelming knowing your somewhere
other than with me here

if only you knew
the pain i feel inside
a hurt so great
to excruciating to verbalize

being without you
has left my heart sore
i try not to think about it
but how can i be happy when my man is out there fighting a war

i wait for the day
when he'll come back to me
a moment where
we both can be truly happy

it kills me inside
knowing he's out fighting for our country
and although I'm proud of him
there's still a chance that death can be the end for the one man who loves me

how could they take my everything
who has changed my life forever
how can they take the only thing
that's rights my wrongs and makes everything all better

how could they be so selfish
and leave me at home
waiting for the possibility
that alive, my man wont be coming home

i just wish
i could have him back
so every night i pray to God
that the troops are sent out from Iraq
