"Case of the Coulda, Woulda, Shouldas"
  by DaddysGirl

~WE COULD HAVE JUST FUCKED~

Did we think this story could really turn into a "happily ever after"?
You're not mines & I'm not yours... this was just another chapter

We could have been breathing heavily, scratching, & screaming obscenities
Instead hearts were skipping beats, emotions getting involved, thinking "oh, the possibilities"

Damn, were we insane?
We broke all of the rules to playing this game.

~WE SHOULD HAVE JUST FUCKED~

We never should have let it get so deep
This should have just been a one-night only kind of creep

Toes should have been curling, eyes should have been rolling back, moans should have been escaping lips
Instead we were bonding, spending quality time, getting to know each other, & planning romantic getaway trips

Why didn't we just give into to the lust
We had the nerve to start building up trust

~WE WOULD HAVE JUST FUCKED~

We both knew we were committing adultery
So caught up, we completely ignored the harsh reality

We would have been sweating, exchanging bodily fluids, & taking each other to pure ecstasy
Instead, we were having late night conversations, getting comfortable, & fantasizing about how cute our kids would be

How could we keep saying this was "meant to be"
This just wouldn't work but we were too blind to see

~WE DIDN'T JUST FUCK~

Now-Hearts are broken, Feelings are hurt, & Emotions are scarred
Damn, this dealing with all of this regret is so very hard

We should have just placed our rings & our hearts on the night-stand
but instead, I gave you me & you gave me you...this turned into so much more than we had ever planned

All the thoughtful gestures, sharing, laughing, & growing attached
What we had will never be matched

Finally finding the perfect mate to my soul
I thought together we would stay & grow old

But I guess for a union between you & I, there's no such luck
I'm telling you, real talk- "We COULDA,WOULDA, SHOULDA but DIDN'T just fuck"
