There’s a quiet speech in my throat
words wanting to bubble
trapped in the swallow
contents seeking up

each sound convincing
twisting emotions
flipping stances
retreats...
then advancing

but wait

what goes in
must come out
and there’s so much more
that a person’s about

but the last action
can revisit
and if its
here to stay
then maybe these words
….I must say

but for now,
I clasp my hands
and choke on the verbs
that thoughts compelled
be interred
