I am Black and I'm proud too
But we cannot continue to argue over the same issues
The favorite topic of the past 10 years has been the "N word"
Like this is a discussion that we have never heard
Saying how the music that uses it embarrasses us
And yes we will be upset if another race calls us niggers
But the other races barely have to take responsibility
Because we start blaming ourselves as soon as they say "I'm sorry"
As a people we refuse to stand together
We would rather take the "higher ground" and point fingers at each other
If we are not talking about the "N word" then we are talking about hoes and bitches
Saying how Hip Hop promotes the disrespect of our Black sisters
If a sister sees herself as hoe or a bitch
Then she needs to change herself and not the music
Even Jesse Jackson recently admitted that the "N word" is not a big dilemma
That we should take more time to solve real problems in Black America
However we as Black people, we just love to censor each other
To prove to white people that we are not just "ignorant coloreds"
But that is a idea that they already believe
Because when we war within ourselves they know we do not have any real unity
Back when we stood with Dr. King, the Black Panthers, and Malcolm X
They took us seriously, and saw us as a real threat
We need to stop blaming Hip Hop music
Especially when the simple solution is to just stop listening to it
What we need to do is start raising these children
Teach these boys how to become men
How to take care of the kids
And not abandon their family like their father did
Teach these girls how to become women and ladies
Not to open their legs to the every guy that says she is pretty
Teach these "baby mamas" how to become mothers
Show them that they are their child's first teacher
How to behave at work and in school
How to dress to impress for an interview
We need to find ways to make our community better
So we can start to rebuild our Black America
