Lavender certainty….
Pulchritudinous beams,
Radiating luminescence…
Opulence breathes.
I thrive.
Enlightenment kisses
Carnivorous spirituality…
Charmingly habitual…
Beguiling psyche…
Edifying ruminations.

Brain rearranged…
Previous ideation
Proven deranged.
Comprehensibility confounds…
Up becomes
Down becomes
Left becomes
Right and
What’s right
Suddenly…matters?

Humanity persecutes…
Past days
Spent in
Felonious haze…
Present moments
Crying tears…
Crumbling community…
Rocks of
Firm foundation
Sold on
Corner and
Smoked in
Abandoned buildings.

Babies birthing
Babies addicted
Mamas leaving
Babies neglected…
Streets raising
Sons fathering
Daughters mothering
Babies while
Yet babies
And the
Cycle goes
On and
On and
On and
I cry.

Adumbrated destiny
Seeps through
These tears
Of ink…
Disgorging upon
Sidewalk crevices
Innards leaking
Pure poetry
Mourning this
Pitiful precipice.
Stanzas written
Outlining frigidly
Cold cadaver…
Future father…
Black king…
Honor student…
Shot down…
Adolescence snubbed…
He’s tomorrow’s
Doctor…lawyer…
He’s today’s
Future president…
Bleeding out
In the
Name of
Failing humanity.
