It's hard being a black man,
Educated, charismatic, you have met goals, and also have a plan,
To succeed, yet women with blonde hair heed,
When they see you walking up the street,
It doesn't matter if you have on a suit, and your hair is real neat,
Still they grip their purses, and dont even try to be discreet,
It is quite insulting, and seldomly causes me any heat,
To my brain, but instead it does to my heart,
Would it be the same if the guy with the blue eyes walked by your side,
Would you roll your window up, when he got near your ride?
No, of course not, then why don't you treat me with integrity?
Is it because when you look at me, it's a different color you see?
Just try for one second to put yourself in my shoes,
Then you would understand, It's a concious choice you chose,
Just think about it, what does acting that way really prove?
Other than you're not color blind and quite rude,
Besides, if a purse snatcher is really in pursuit,
Holding your purse real tight, or actually unseemly, would not stop him from gettting the loot,
So the next time you see a black man walking down the street,
Everyone does not want what you have, show a little respect and try to be discreet.
