its that shot at happiness
that each of us takes in our lives
we open ourselves up
and hope that the object of our affection
can accept us as is
bruises, scars, fractures and all

though most can associate
the word love
with much pain

knows no bounds
it dosen't see
color
height
weight
body shape

its not about
who has a nice car
or who gots a big house
or who has the most money
well at least it shouldn't be
love
it can sometimes bring about a change
maybe the change is in you
maybe your lover
maybe both of you changed
for each other
love
you have to be honest
its never simple
love
its about
the person on the inside
not just what you see on the outside
love
its tellin a person
you want to be with them forever
and you really do mean it.
