"Final Confession"
  by Crystal
  - This Poem is a response to the poem Lie 2 Lie by Hubby

A better life for me, it is you say.
You're right, look at the progress I have made up today
Hard work and dedication, I deserve it. I earned it.
No need to go back to my past. So I decided to forfeit

Two young people with two different views can't possibly last
I loved this guy but my heart he walked on and thrashed
How could you ignore someone when the biggest thing in their life just happened
Literally walk over them, ignore their presence, then wonder y they snapping

I wanted to be single but with college coming up
I needed someone to turn too
Preparing to travel off to the unknown where none is known
You say you cared the most but where the hell were you.

Sending messages through people writing poems on my page
But yet never talked to me in person til it was time for me to go
A simple conversation could have fixed this all
But the both of us let love walk out the door

Rumors: a senior can't love a junior
In college, they'll cheat and won't wait
A bunch of b.s. yet you believed it
I read that letter you wrote with the sand bottle for keepsake

All the stuff u bought, the bunny, glass egg
key chain , I still got it
why because they are remnants of a once beautiful thing
A great friendship, I still have not forgot it

If I hurt you so bad, well damn I'm sorry
All relationships have problems, we see it everyday on Maury
Outsiders tore that relationship apart, they should have never been in there
We both got hurt, to point blame is so unfair

We learn from our mistakes in relationships
So we don't pass them on to the next one
You're a great guy and whoever you fall for next
Will be a lucky girl, be a blessed one

We are both are grown
and have a thing called LIFE to sustain
I've only hurt one guy in my 20 yr dating history
So damaging another heart is a promise to myself that I won't refrain

Not trying to fix what was broken
A simple closure would suffice
I hold no grudges, history is a forgotten mystery
I used to have an attitude but the NEW me is so nice

All that darkness and ya da ya da just drop it
You're loved by many just open ya eyes..and stop it
I learned a lot from you, taught me how to be a woman
The only thing I'm sorry for is that I didn't take the time to understand

The real you. I just thought you were a loud attention seeker
But I realize now that was your call for help
You just wanted to make some true friends and fit in
You're free spirit was just away of expressing yourself

Believing outsider's opinion
on how I got with you know who
Can't blame a heart for falling for someone who cares
He was that crying shoulder because no where to be found was you

That Kleenex that wiped my tears away
A big step in my life and only he was there for me
I DID NOT CHEAT Nothing sexually or physically, but emotionally
After we stopped speaking I thought no one cared for me

Feelings grew stronger, but none compared to those I had for you
All those lies i did not talk to him on that level when I was with you
Is it fair to break another heart if you didn't seem like u wanted me at the time
If you would've expressed how u felt I would have took u back at da drop of a dime

I let you go so you could explore the world
A maturing free spirit should not be tied down to one girl
I did not leave you because you were young or any other reasons
I just broke to all the drama we'd gone through all the seasons

I truly was IN love wit you and still love you as a FRIEND
Whether you believe or not, after today, will no longer matter to me
There's nothing left to put out on the table
This is my final confession, the rest is history.

Damn lost love...We all go through it...It wakens your body to the deepest of sorrow...Deepest regrets. Funny how us women hang on to every little priceless thing...
