We thought that this day would never come
Some doubters and some believers
But now we shout louder than we ever have before
For our 44th president, an african american
A dream fulfilled with so much willing
Dr. King Once stated-"We will get to the promise land! I might not make it there with you, but we will get there!"
Well now we do not have to live in dispair no more
Some people do not understand what kind of an accomplishment this is
From not being welcomed into certain establishments
From now having the first black president
Not everything can be perfect but there will be change
Time to stop with the political games
We took the longest road to get here
Time after time
We climbed and we climbed
And now were finally at the top of the mountain
