"Fire Flies"
  by TS

Memories tumble inside a puzzle box
Like letters trapped inside a thought
I searched through centuries of broken hearts
To seek a love that would never falter
And somewhere between reality and fantasy
Shined a star so brightly...
Sparking fire as it flew into my aura
Igniting me...

Reflections of distorted lights which twirl before me like a million eyes
Now remind me of what we once were...
Tears escape me like the body heat that once kept you comfortable
They slither as they trace the lips
That constantly reminisce of sorrow...
And as they say their good byes,
They try their best to wash away the light from my eyes...

Ringing in my ear
I hear joy making its way into the past
The sound of your laughter and the shade of your warmth
Now leave a trace of shattered glass
A path that'll go unfollowed
For centuries to come....

Limitless undying love has found a coffin to nail shut
As your words escavate the ground we died on...
And like a million stars...
The exact image i once saw
Returned to the center of the sky
And continued his job as the Sun....

"Tears escape me like the body heat that once kept you comfortable" - that one struck a nerve, but I think the second stanza as a whole does that lol. Closed very eloquently, too.
