Thought I would write a poem for one of my biggest inspirations
Find that sometimes through your words, I go on this journey
and never really meet that final destination
Cause where you come from, there always seems to be more
More for you to write about, more stories to tell
Fallen shadows of darkness, seems to be so much pain, so much sadness and anger
But living in a world like this, going through all these changes from years ago to now,
yehh I know, and I really can't blame you
I find new things, learn stuff when I read you
Keep me believing in myself, and telling me how amazing you think I am
Never thought that I could possibly be anything like this,
but you made me realize that I could get wherever I want to
And through your poetry, I see something refreshing, a blessing, something new
Things that I'm not used to seeing and that's the beauty of it
Cause every time you spit I learn a little bit
I must admit that everything you write is worth just sitting and listening to [or reading]
Knowledge, especially since you're a teacher, is what you're giving off, what you're feeding
Taking the power and putting it in ya own hands
You take stands, don't obey little demands
I admire you for your truth and honesty, honestly
Everyone and anyone should live in this reality
Obviously, you speak of what you see, say what you believe
Only show what you feel you need to prove to YOURSELF, no one else
And I guess that's the true thing in getting ultimate wealth
within your mentality
Never hidden under masks, you show your true personality
Say how you feel about everything from love to hate
Speak so literally, but at the same time you speak so metaphorically
Flow seems to come out so naturally
Almost better yet, always there for me
True friendship is rare that's why I cherish it

I see you writing in black books and mentally arresting the poetry police
All I can say is thank you..for helping bring forth my own art of poetry,
you've helped me master my form of release
