"Good Ol Days"
  by Allidoiswrite82
listen to soulcast

These days its
PS2
And PS3
360
The Wii
4,5 hundred dollars
for these systems
We were satisfied with Atari
What ever happen to playing outside
Jump rope
Freeze tag
slip and slide
what ever happen to the
Duck duck goose days
four square
hopscotch
And the dodge ball plays
Tether ball court claims
The, This is my court
So your yelling out the rules like
No catchies
No bottle caps
Or Spinnies
Adjusting the rules to your liking so they can't beat you
What ever happen to running out in the field
Playing a little red rover
Or crack the whip
And you would get dirt all over
And you knew your mom hated those grass stains
But you playin
At recess
Listening to what Simon was saying
And if he said hit the ground
Then thats just what you did
Cause your goal
Was to be that last standing kid
What ever happen to hide and seek
And you would try to speak
Yell out "not it"
Cause you'd rather hide then seek
Or a little heads up seven up
And you would always cheat
peeking out the sides
To see who was coming to your seat
And always got it right cause your were
Staring at their feet
Remember
playing Mother may I
Take 3 big steps
And
Mother May I take 5 baby steps
All to become the mother
So you can issue out the steps
Or checking out the girls who had pep
In the double dutch crew
Singing Dum dum dodo
Catch me if you can
I can run faster then
They yell out their best friend

Or the girls on the side
Who had the rhythm flowing
Playing Miss Mary Mack
And keeping those hands going

I would love to go back to those simpler days
Playing wall ball
And try not to fall
Off the monkey bars
If you ask me today
These kids just don't know how to play

playground.
