Grown Far Apart

Please forgive me
if i have started to forget
those endearing words you told me
those promises you were supposed to have kept

feeling more lonely
than i have felt before
it's as if you don't even
know me anymore

no more calls from you
late at night
asking if I'm home
doing all right

as love starts to subside
and each others pain comes and goes with out detection
slowly but shortly
we drift apart in opposite directions

maybe we weren't strong enough
to begin with
because lately its a fact
that you and i have become more distant

conversations seeming
as if they are beginning to be forced to occur
separation becoming more frequent
not like how things were

smiles begin to diminish
and love has been suppressed
two lives now broken
in their own levels of unhappiness

a love which was wholesome
from the very start
just proved how easy too people in love
can grow so far apart
