"Hip Hop Broke My Heart"
A BlakkStarr and Luck-E Collaboration

  Luck-E:

when Nas first said it, it went over my head
now i understand what he meant, HIP HOP IS DEAD
and theres no ressurecting it
damn, i fell in love with her in my early days
back when album versions to songs could get radio play
and i ain't talkin bout Biggy & 'Pac
i mean The Fugees, Run DMC, Melly Mel
Public Enemy, NWA, Slick Rick, & Big L
a few years ago, she started to change on me
its like she got all derranged on me
but i still had my memories
like the first tume i heard ODB, Pras, & Mya - Ghetto Superstar
bumpin mc eiht, staight up menace, while i'm stuck in the car
Cali livin was feelin kinda good
on the blocc hangin listenin to NWA - Boyz In Da Hood
bein raised back then hip hop did its part
but i hate to say it.... HIP HOP BROKE MY HEART

  BlakkStarr:

since i was young all i wanted was to spit my soul
turn on tha radio tha oppisite is wats gettin sold
i cant hear tha tracks that make me wanna pump my fist
all i hear is gun bustin and woop tha trick
wat tha fuck is this hiphop? i think not
i wish it wat more about tha thought and not just bein pop
tha coons of music now? just off tha top of my brain
Soulja Boy, 50 cent, lil wayne
i could go for days but why its no good
they dont wanna be educated they just wanna be hood
so when these rappers get shot down i never shed a teardrop
its called karma, and you gonna feel it before tha year stops
i thought a girl would be my downfall, make my breathin stop
and yea i hate to say it....HIP HOP BROKE MY HEART

  Luck-E:

why all they new jacks, talkin bout jail like its kewl
playin the youth for ignorant fools
fuck album of they year, lets hand out millie vanillie awards
cause these dudes really some frauds
ain't no truth in what they saying
i shouldn't say it, but for their downfalls i'm steady praying
tell me... how the hell souja boy get a deal
and lil wayne spit so many lies, i don't think even kno wats real...
trust me i'm not hatin
all i'm saying is that hip hop is wat they disgracing
can we press rewind, take hip hop back to its original start
so i won't be depressed... cause hip hop broke my heart
see... when nas said it, it went over my head
but i now kno wat he meant, hip hop is dead

  BlakkStarr:

and with hiphop dead its time for resurrection
for real lyricist to stand at attention like erections
ask who takin over it aint Khaled and his lames
no its tha Starr and his army for tha game
cuz wat im feelin is ashamed for my ppls who dont know
that it aint hiphop to refer to woman as bitches and hoes
how bout queens and angels rappers got no respect
they get upset and tha first option is pull a tech
well i got a weapon too they calle nouns and verbs
i know you heard i just be cuttin niggaz up wit my words
so to fake niggas bring it cuz your pedigree level is zero
so call me Triple H thats tha Hip Hop Hero

Damn. I love this collabo. Where did this come from. You dudes went deep and distinguished the differences between the current and past hip hop... It has changed a lot... Your piece speaks from both of your hearts and its very socially conscious. I mean, what else is there to say? Hip hop is dead, and I think that you two can do the task of helping to restore what it once was. Damn...
