I should have been dead and gone,
I played with a life of sin for so long,
A light at the end of the tunnel I could not see,
When I wanted to give up, on me He shined down His Mercy,
Feelings of despair, I knew so well,
The life I was acquaintanted with was pure hell,
In the grave or insane asylum, is where I shuold be,
But, I'm alive and mentally well because of His mercy,
I didn't deserve to live life another day,
Because of His love, sins price I did not have to pay,
His amazing grace is such a sweet sound,
His mercy and forgiveness, I have finally found,
Not because of anything that I deserved,
But, because of my genuine cry He heard,
He didn't have to do it, but He did,
I'm eternally grateful for the blood He shed,
When I was dying, sinking into a bottomless pit,
His loving arms rescued me, and His mercy I will never forget.
