"How Long"
  by iva

Thats my woman
but that aint me
with my arms around her waist
trodding through south beach
cry
no
mother said dont weep
so I become
this poem
How long
do dreams last
for those who
go to sleep late
and rise early
How long
can this dream
be you and me
Is faithful even in style again
for I havent kept up
with the trends
Is pure love
your love
has it ever been
See I give
all myself to you
if I was wide awake
I wouldnt fuckin do that
You give
your whole heart to me
but only when its night
any other time Im ugly
How long
do dreams last
before they turn to
real life woes
how long
can we dream warm
before it becomes
ice cold
What they dont know
wont hurt them
come lets us go
kick up the guy
who made famous
that line
for it ruins love
most of the time
unless your just dreaming
like I
Sheets pulled over my head
its an electric bliss
when I rise
she says she loves me
then I saw her kissing
cute
now I know how long
dreams last
only for a spell
then comes
the truth

Faithfulness may have gone out of style, but many people have keep it going strong. I saw this whole scene in my head. I don't know what you the outcome was; but I know what Orange Juice Jones (I Saw You Walking In The Rain) would have done. lol
