"I am...."
  by ~Unpredictable Nature~
  - This Poem is a response to the poem I am. by Mz Prose

I am
*coughs*
I am
*coughs*
I am scared
I know it
but my pride won't let me show it
so I store it up for another rainy day
when I'm all along and no sees my tears or hears my moans
:....................:

I am that sheep wrapped in fox fur
unable to share
the needed parts of my being that can one day take me there
where's there.....
hopefully to TRUE LOVE
because

I am that little girl that wants to have her daddy's hug
but since the reality of that conclusion will never be
I'll keep kissing these frogs until my prince shows himself to me
invite me into his land of chivalry
extend REAL LOVE and let me just be

see
I am that overprotective friend
cuz I can see when the muthafucka's playing games to no end
sending you on a scavenger hunt to baby-momma-ville
romancing you with lies and horizontal whip appeal
taking your beauty and replacing it with those "worrying" years
and for every black eye, busted lip, broke rib(s) it's my shoulder that saturates your tears
so I'll admit that

I am fighter
HELL
call me a survivor
because the weight of the world feels so much lighter
than a daughter without mother's love and trust
a sister who will continue to take responsibility for "us"
a cousin who's more like an auntie
a niece who Very different from what her mother use to be
a co-worker you'll love to have when it's time to crunch
a girlfriend who'll remember the little things and make you the perfect lunch
a grand-daughter who'll move the world for you if she could
a child of the KING who'll never fall for anything so he pointed out my place and that's where I stood...

that's who I am...
(what you see is what you get)
