At times when I thought love was wrong
I turned to it to sing me a song
When things get out of control in my life
It's like the my shadow...it sticks by my side
Without it I could be anything else
But it is who i am...so i wouldn't be myself
It's like turning on the radio and hearing everything that relates
To my life this love of mine helps to escape
Escape this cold world and in times when i'm blue
I turn to it when I can't turn to you
I need to express myself and what other way
To write a good poem to tell about my day
It is my brain that grows when i hear something new
It is my bestfriend when i need to get through
My heart is poetry poetry is my sleep
My thoughts are poetry poetry is my dream
Boys in my life didn't do me good
Men in my life did all that they could
But I am in love as it is with me
And all of the world knows that I am poetry
It conceived me on 1-6-89
And it flows through these veins of mine
It is my twin we came into this world together
And we will be like this as one forever
