lol, I understand your frustrations especially b/c a lot of ppl see the one side mainstream and take it as a representation of hip hop when in fact there's emcee's who don't live this way at all... quite the opposite... I just wish there was a balance b/c there's some dope folks rhyming out there w/ lyrics and lifestyles w/substance... that's where I think the problem lies, personally... no balance.
Sarcasm at its best... I remember when hip hop was about making political statments... empowering and educating the community through song. It used to have a purpose. Now, it's just about making money. It's the easiest hustle if you know the right people and can put your garbage to a catchy beat. It's sad... not speaking on all rappers.. but this one definitely applies to some well known "break-through" artists out there... Lucky for the public, they don't last long.
