"I WANT MY VOTE BACK"
  by **HOLLA**

People never seize to amaze me
Racial slurs being thrown around like if it don’t hurt me
How can you say I don’t know the depth of your passion, BITCH LOOK AT ME
Just because our skin color is different don’t mean I don’t know misery…

But you know what…

as fucked up and as ignorant as it is…

They’re right… I’m not black…

So I guess I should ask for my vote back…

Because after all, “since I’m not black” my vote didn’t really count
And I should explain to my son what this is “REALLY” about
Maybe I should tell him that because we’re not black, and we’re not white, we really don’t fit in
So I guess calling an African American a nigger or a Puerto Rican a spic isn’t an ethical sin
I guess because we’re “not black” we don’t know discrimination
I better tell him I lied when I told him that he could be anything he wants to be in this opportunistic nation

WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU to tell me that I can’t understand because our skin color or ethnic background aint the same
I never knew you had to be a certain nationality to understand struggle and pain
I never knew that because I don’t have hate slashes on my back means I’ve lived a good and happy life
Nor did I know that I had to be an African American to know about STRIFE
Who told you that my beige skin was not enough to be classified as a peasant to so many who are lighter than me
My bad… I apologize for “assuming” that we were one in the same , cuz in your eyes we’re not and never will be

So you know what, tomorrow I’m going to the City of Miami and asking them If I could have my vote back…
No sense in trying to bring forth “Change” if change, according to you, was something to look forward to if you’re “black”

Uuummm…. but wait…. maybe…. just maybe…. I could do something better

Instead, maybe I can tell my son that ignorance exist no matter how blind to it we try to be
And maybe I can explain to him that no matter what happens he should stay proud of the baby THAT CAME OUT OF ME
You know what, I think I’ll even continue to make a man out of him despite the stupidity that continues to come out of people’s mouth
Baby boy, I built our foundation based on realness, no bitchassness could bring down our house
No amount of OPB will ever be a part of our daily because your mommy is a fighter…
We are one in the same even if one skin color is dark and the other is lighter
And my baby, don’t listen to anyone, just remember what mommy has always told you…
Just because some people’s heart may be filled with hate, it does not mean you have to be filled with hate too…

You better than that…

So no, we won’t ask for our vote back… baby… our vote mattered!!!

Awww thats so sweet. I understand exactly what you mean. Ignorant people have this idea about people being racist. But they're blinded by they're ignorance because there the ones being racist.... theyre just hypocrites. Mixed people are the most vulnerable to racism... i swear... I dont know what kind of idiot would even say dont vote for obama because your not black.. thats just stupid.. they obviously dont get the big picture.... Obama didnt win because hes black. He won because hes the best c...

And the fact remains a lot has changed but some shit is still the same. I'm sorry that someone made you feel like that. And I agree 100% with the m...
