“If the Dead Could Speak”
My mom looked into tipsy eyes too many times
Day after day until she wondered how much she could take
She then said “my deranged little girl is dead to the world”….
So I—took a trip to the cemetery to watch the sunrise
As the sun shadowed over the tombstone I began to mesmerize…
If the dead could speak they would whisper secrets society attempts to ignore
I fell off into a daze as I began to think more
When I opened my eyes a corpse was laying by my side
Unfortunately his lips were sealed
But I began to have a convo w/ him even still
“Tell me, since you’ve been to death’s hill
b/t Buddha, Allah, and Jesus which one is real?
Should I be practicing yoga or neglecting pork?
Should I indulge in Daoism or consume Christianity w/ a fork?”
“After your last breaths ceased
To whom did you meet?
Were your roots traced back to Adam and Eve
Or did you have the same ancestors as Willibee?”
“Is green really green or is green actually red?
I’m asking bc they say the true answers live w/ the dead
I stare at the corpse in envy
Bc he can put checks and X’s to any worldly theory of history
If I could look into the dead’s eyes
No longer would I have to hypothesize what force causes the sun to rise
Or why it doesn’t set from east to west (set not rise)
If the dead could speak he would tell me if his soul was reincarnated
Or by Hell’s lake, his soul was devastated
“Is there really life on Mars; if so which ruler created them
Would they too be judged and condemned?
It is impulsively impossible to initiate a mainstream morality in a Mar’s Marshin”
“And how much truth is there in these paranormal portages televising their beliefs
Bc those beliefs are absent from the Bible and Quran or Hindu chant song”
“If your lips weren’t sealed I would ask you to give me racism’s exact sec of birth
So I could create a timeline and put that fetus in a hearse”…
I than began to again think and eventually drift out of my dream
I awoke as puzzled as a jigsaw searching for the corpse I once saw
I looked over all the tombstones in utter disbelief
But still thinking “only if the dead could speak”
