the front doors slams shut..
on his way to the car he screams out loud
calling mommy all kind of cuss words, the neighbors stare at him as if hes a nut

creeping from out of my room, on my way to check on mama
i notice a new hole in the wall that fits the shape of the back of her head
vases and tables turned over show a huge sign that it was violent-al drama
i don't want us to stay.. i wish mama would just let us leave instead

as i neared her door i could hear her soul weeping
and there she was on the floor and though i heard sound, her body remained still
and because i saw no rise of her i wasn't quite sure she was breathing

rushing over to her i placed her head on my lap as she cried
slipped my hand underneath her arm pulling her hair back from her face and
said "mommy no matter what he does to you,you'll always be beautiful in my eyes"
