Another cold and sleepless night. I have tossed and turned wondering how this pillow has become my safe haven. I long to feel your warm caresses and hear your light chatter as we prepare our body to rise amidst the clouds. What is going through your head at this moment in time? Did you feel the raindrops as they pounded on my tin roof? Did you smell the earth when the sun peeked from behind thunder? Was there a burning in your loins as you remembered our last twenty four hours together?
The beating of my heart has become a reminder of what could have been. I relive each hour, second and minute as if time has stood still. Dreams have become my enemy, because you appear in each and every one. Like a mist rising from a swamp in the fog you roam through my brain. Clouding my judgement, leaving me unaware of the dangers lurking on a cloudless night I long for you.
Love has no boundary, my emotions- no shame. I cling to your used towel, basking in the warm scent left behind. Used unwashed wine glasses with traces of your lips fill my cabinets. Shirts left behind with perspiration stains have become my ward robe. Old bread with worn crusts have become my meal.
Lover although you are absent in body, you are alive in my mind. Take me with you as you go through your daily tasks. In my mind is a scrapbook of memories of our past, present and future.
Passion is a fruit once bitten, twice savored.
Dear Lover cold and lonely shall I remain until we meet again
