"Letters"
  by Lady_Style

She waits for the postman to make that drop,
as she sits n waits on a tuesday,
for him to pull up n stop,
Prayin he\'ll walk up her pathway,
knowin he\'ll make her day better,
as she anxiously awaits,
her loved ones letter.

It\'s been 3 years and every day is the same,
missin her man so much,
the closest thing to him she has, is his surname.
Her husband is in jail,
and she\'s all alone,
things have been so tough on her,
since he\'s been gone.

Her bed feels empty,
and her soul so lonely,
wishin she had his company,
jus so she could hold him.
With each letter come tears,
as she reads the feelins he\'s expressed,
tellin her how much he misses her,
and without her he jus can\'t rest.

One night he got a call to go help a friend,
she was unsure about him leavin,
but with good reason,
she never saw him again.
She\'d moved to be wit him and start a new life,
now she\'s back in her country,
a jailed mans wife.
He didn\'t mean to take it that far,
it was jus meant to be a simple beatin,
but the guy told him he was gonna fuck his wife,
so he shot him n left him bleedin.

She gets to leave a message,
jus so he can hear her voice,
but it only lasts a minute or so,
then the line goes dead, no noise.
The pages of his letters are so full of love,
all he wants to do is be wit her,
and forget about what was.
Her tears tumble as she reads his precious words,
yearnin to be with him and hold him,
so instead of seein those words they\'re heard.

She\'s promised him she\'ll wait,
and hold on until he\'s released,
but mans on a long thing in there,
and she\'s got a life to be lived.
But without him by her side,
life will never be as it should,
never be for fillin enough,
never be as good.
All she has to hold onto is the band around her finger,
as she lay readin his letters to feel close to him,
lettin her thoughts linger.

She sits back and cries,
holdin her head in her hands,
cause all she has right now, are letters sealed wit a kiss,
posted by the prison from her man.

Oh wow, so much emotion going on here, I guess its just like long distance relationships but a little harder. Only depending on letters to get by is pretty tough but thats how you can tell that its true love. this was an very interresting piece!
