So may people life on were the came from
making the mistake of thinking were i am now is were i will always be
saying i am what the streets made me
saying now one cares
but
LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT
you thought hood made you street smart but it is you that makes you smart
it is you that can choose to become more thin what you see around you
so many years i spend thinking the same as you
but one day i looked at the sky and wondered what was beyond it
IT WAS ME THAT TOOK BACK MY LIFE
to only turn it into something i could look back at and smile about
to many years i spend in fear of walkin down my streets
but i thought it is the streets that should fear me
cuz i am man and i am whats real
and whats real is something no hood could ever take from me
i was born into sin but it is not sin that runs me
it is the streets that try to take me
but it is i that keeps me
because i know now
LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE IT
and now i sit 24 years later i look into the eyes of my son
and say now i have to make
i have to see you through life to not live in the fear that i lived
and to teach those in fear
you came into this earth for a perpose
but it is you and you alone that can live that perpose
and it is blaming the world for the ways of yo life that keep you away from that witch the lord has for you
so i come to you Man and Woman
and say loudly
look to the sky as i did and no longer blam or fear life me it fear you
