Like How I Was Before

Its so hard
for me to write this
but baby girl i have to man up
and stand strong, i know you can fight this

i pray for you at night
but i feel so naive
because if God was listening
he would of gotten you all better in an instant already for me

i cant come up with words
to even describe
the overwhelming pain
i feel deep inside

each day not having you hear
i feel like dieing
drowning in an ocean of my tears
i just cant stop crying

knowing your in the hospital
in pain and hurt
feels like I'm living
a reality of hell on earth

id give anything
to let your pain pass through me
so i could make your life
so much more easy

and as each day passes
i feel so useless
knowing i have no power to help you get better
why would God allow you to go through this?

being without you
I've grown so cold
without your smile
i no longer have the flame of love burning within my soul

baby i need you
i wish there was something i could do or say
but nothing
seems to make the hurt go away

so as another day
goes by
i look up
and stare at the sky

and close my eyes
and begin to read God this letter
in hopes that maybe this will be the night
he will work his magic to make you better

because id give anything
to have your hurt mended
i guess my only choice is to wait
until your sickness is finally ended

then that's when
i can truly be sure
that I'll be happy
like how i was before
