As we roam, earth-bound
Seeking and searching
A mate heaven-found
First, we must be shaped and molded
Before sinking into welcoming arms, unfolded

For, perhaps, we are not yet "prepared" for our "opportunity"
To receive God's blessing of a life-long, covenanted unity
But as we pray for God to send us that which we yearn
Perhaps, we still have growing to do and lessons to learn

So, until we are "prepared" for His "opportunity"
We are not, meanwhile, granted personal immunity
From all within us that must be extracted and subtracted
So that we, then, are more glorious and more deeply attracted
To and by the he or she
That be
Our mates sent.....divinely

So, perhaps instead of praying for an angel, heaven-sent
We should pray that God "prepare" us to receive its descent
And that He make in US an "angel," matched in perfect accent....
