if I glance behind me...
he won't be there
but, oh, I feel him
making me behave in ways
that most people won't understand
I love that man
and so,
my fingers play upon the silk
seeing what he would see
if it were me - buttoned down
all the way
skipping that 2nd slice of pie
so that deposits don't leave
unflattering bulges on
thighs & under chins & flat bellies
unless, we deem paunch adds life
and I glance again,
believing he can see
the cavalier way
I walk my way past entertainment
dripping raunchy & brainless
to sit in this quiet place
hearing my heart talking
I heard a noise
and prayed it were he behind me
covering eyes with piano hands
and tickling my ivories
to shine
and though he did not,
the two of us were present as I left
& purchased a memento
to bring to reality
