"Lovesand"
  by Spit Ace

Wake up to a black hole sun every morning,
a dull alarm clock that fortunes its ring to better days.
Something about 6AM has me caught in
the middle of these autumn leaves and the pourin' rain,
come to think,
come to wonder,
it's you who keeps me
pushing through the summer thunder
and all the pain.

But I'm king of nothing and you're the queen
of everything.
In each thought,
in every dream,
If this world is just black and white, you
paint my skies and all that's in between.

I'd give myself up, but quite
frankly I don't think it'd be enough.
Maybe you can tell you're deserving of better just from
the crooked smile on my face,
maybe I'm just paranoid, a parasite on your parade
stuck in love's procession - no finish line, no first nor last place.

Shall I fall into arms,
or stay in spill canvas of senseless waste,
playing the same role, I've always played -
a fool's fool,
a joker's ace.
I came to win your heart,
and a dull alarm clock just fortunes its ring to better days..

wow...i love the the title...i had to read it twice to really grasp it...i especially am feeling the last stanza..."shall i fall into arms, or stay in spill canvas of senseless waste, playing the same role, i've always played-"...smh...beautifully written...and that second stanza is also very touching...
