Frantic, in a daze.
The world - waiting and wasting;
its desert sands have run red.

Silence in the air.
Shells line the track of footsteps;
his heart a throbbing grenade.

amazing..."his heart a throbbing grenade.."...but before that .."the world-waiting and wasting"...descriptive yet simple...but those two lines..capture so much...very well done
