About Me

  -------------------------------------

About Me:
My name is Chungyen Chang. I am a nineteen year-old poet and writer from Kentucky. My inspiration comes from a lifelong love for books and words, my continuing struggles against clinical depression, binge eating disorder, racial stereotyping, gender roles, and disconnected thinking. I am the survivor of two suicide attempts, sexual abuse, and high school. I was raised by a single mother. From a very young age I knew that I was different from other people, and eventually I would come to realize that only words could truly express how I think and feel. I have been writing for over nine years.

I don't think anyone dies alone, as long as there is someone out there who cares for them. I truly believe that everyone has certain business, certain fates meant for them, and we can't leave until those things are done. I still had things to do, and so God sent me back.

Kudos to you, and to all of the parents out there. I was raised by a single mother and I am thankful for my mom every day.

I can totally relate to this feeling. I am like this all the time in class.

I believe strongly that nothing happens without a reason...bad things included. At the time, it may seem hard to believe in anything good. A lot of people question God when tragedy happens in their lives- "why did this happen to me?" But bad things are only bad if you choose to let them be that way. No experience is without a lesson, and every tragedy leaves you stronger in the end.

this is written about someone i love very much. alot of times i found that males is general have a very difficult time expressing themselves especially black men. they in some way feel to open up annd show there pain, sadness is a sign of weakness when it is just the opposite. there for the issues they encounter brings them to a place of hoplessness and they make decisions that are not benifical to there growth and a lot of times the women that love them takes on there pain in hope to someho...
