"Musings"
  by cado astrum

Happiness...
You reclusive beast
Where do you live
Is it only in dreams?

Maze of ironies
Shielded in pearl
Lost in uncertainties
And laced with swords.

Choice is poison
Yet a necessary ill
You do not exist
Freedom of Will.

Pain...a rival
Reminder of breathing
Champion over death
Minister of weeping.

Veil of mysteries
The universe it seems
Grown upon hunger
Like leaves upon trees.

Fickle heart
Beating so violent
Blood spurting forth
In shades of violet.

Contradictory whispers
Assault the mind
Happiness lights
Amid destructive vice.

Very conflicted and intense... I think it represents the stress of responsibility and the weight of choices. I hope you remember that you're always free, even when there's an appearance of being bound by circumstance.
