"MY SHAWTY"
  by Lo Key

my shawty,
i like to call her mama sometimes, mostly

i call her sweetie!
she be
like all into my every move

and i be watching her through the night
from the moonlight
that shines
on her like June

or summertime....cause
she be making my days go by
can't wait to get home to....

just be by her side.

see we cant change the world
but she changed my life
Damn...i love that girl

see when we sleep
she likes to be right up under me

i guess its the need to feel secure, you know protected
cause she be laying on my chest and
sometimes her hair gets tangled in my necklace

but i dont mind
i just take a lil time to
unwind all the tangled up hair strings while she is sleep

and most nights i whisper in her ear
"I Love You'
and follow that with a kiss on her forehead

and right before bed
I give her a hug
just so that she ain’t gotta dream for love

See cause when I come home from work
She be at the front door…arms wide open
And if she is ever not there…believe that I’m heart broken

At least until I see her face again
With those pretty brown eyes
And cute smile

So I try to return the favor
Because if tomorrow isn’t promised
Then it might be too late when I try later

See I love her and I know she loves me
I can tell by the way that she overlooks
My mistakes…she really
Loves Me for ME!

See I cant help but think of her
Dream of her

She is my like my
Friend
But more than that
she is a part of my heart

no one else can make
me feel like she can...
and i be singing to her
while tryin to play macho like.... "HE-MAN"

see man, I love her with all my heart
And each day I love harder and harder

cause she is my shawty, and sometimes I call her sweetie
believe me.... she is my baby girl…..
she
Is my daughter!

Daddy loves you!

This was by far the sweetest piece that I've read all day. Especially since we're living in a time when most men won't even acknowledge the fact that they have a daughter for you to dedicate a poem to her is beautiful.

AHHH, THAT'S SO SWEET. I LIKE HOW YOU PUT THAT. YOU MADE ME THOUGHT YOU HAD A GIRLFRIEND OR SOMETHING, BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE YOUR DAUGHTER. THAT'S SO CUTE. THIS IS A FAVORITE. 10 STARS FOR THIS, I WISH I COULD GIVE MORE.
