"My Survival of Love"
  by Mr. DID

Tears stream down my face only to meet the floor
While the realms of my mind are being torn through reality’s door
Overcome by dark emotions of tormented bliss
As the cruel mistress of pain and misery greets me with a kiss
But maybe I am getting ahead of myself without cutting you in
Let me back track a moment and tie up some loose ends
Every day I watch as he comes and goes
Walking in and out
Coming in smiling, while leaving out shouting
No words anyone could ever call me could tear me worse than he can
Tearing down the walls of my heart
Demolishing the ground on which I stand
Cursing me from Sunday to Sunday verbally killing the person that I am
Then laughing at what pain he causes as if I was a foolish man
We may parade around while people think that we are happy as can be
But alas they are on the outside, trying to look inside and see
Almost sorry to say that it doesn’t stop there though I wish it did
But what I am about to say I don’t think that anyone can or will forgive
While he steams and shout
Parading around the house
He beats me senseless without any doubt
As if words weren’t enough, feet and fists fly round about
Black eyes
One chipped tooth
Even a cracked rib or two
Flesh wounds from w butcher knife
Thankfully I am telling my story to you
Holes on the walls
Broken glassed scattered on the lawn
Ending at dusk but simply starting up again at dawn
I go to sleep knowing that I am only waking up to his hell
He is my demon,
Setting my soul on fire in his tormenting realm
Then one day it had to stop not knowing how it could o r would
But I had to leave; something was telling me that I should
Not knowing that me leaving would be at some cost
Knowing that it was very much a gain also could be my lose
Hoping that is was over he came for one last attack to end it all
To complete damage
He thought that ending my life was his call
His attempt failed
Now he is serving time in jail
Yet still I have nightmare about his brutality
I still have the scares to show, for the entire world to see
No matter the darkest night that I have because of him
My days are brighter knowing that he is not there to make them dim

I am a survivor….ARE YOU!!!!!!!
