"No Job"
  by Young Street Poet

No job, it seems like nobody is hiring
Every place I go, all they're doing is firing
Company saving money, but they call it downsizing
Overstaffed, kiss my ass, damn my bills are still piling
Application after Application, I'm sick of this shit
6 pages, and I still don't get the job is rediculous
Minimum wage went up, Cigarettes went up
Gas still high as hell as hell, damn this some sick stuff
They say that the rain fall only lasts for a time
It hasn't been forever but a hell-of-a long time
I see ads in store windows that seem to disappear
When you call the store for work, "Sorry, the manager's not here"
Yeah, okay lady I heard it all before you know
All you had to say was you ain't want me in your grocery store
That's the way I'm feeling, it ain't like my appearance trife
Wearing khaki pants, dress shoes, with the shirt and tie
I know it's not Cuz I'm black, damn...look at our president
Or is it because of where I put down for my residence
Maybe cuz I didn't go to college and get a degree
I got my high school diploma though, and 3.7's pretty high to me
But hey, what do I know, "some people" get hired with no prob
All I know is that I have a thousand bills, and no job
