"Poor young Girl"
  by ThepureBlackpoet

There goes your mom,
Going to her favorite places,
The nail, the hair salon,

As for your father, he’s never around,
You’re not seeing the fruits of his labor,
He’s always on these street corners,

You’re crept up in the corner crying,
The baby is crying, are you even trying,
Poor young girl, she needs guidance,

Just found out your ex boyfriend is dying,
And it’s from AIDS; no one’s coming to her aid,
Poor young girl, now she is dying,

Only 18 and your second child is on its way,
Never had a guardian angel to pave her way,
Damn her parents, can’t even say they tried,

A rocky road, though not the one that’s taken,
She could never stopped asking God, why me,
What did I do to deserve this?

What is it you want from me?
So she gets down on her knees,
And she’s Begging the lord please,

Take back the life you gave me,
And please do so for the ones, who made me,
Who can she blame, who’s to blame,

Her tears are forever flowing,
Poor young girl, for you my heart goes out,
My tears can’t stop falling,

Poor young girl, poor young girl,
For you I pray.

this was amazing!!! it really touched me in a way thats so unexplainable...every line every word was brought forth with so much power yet with humbleness and compassion. it expresses a hurt that only certain ones will truly understand. it shows how u care about this young girl. just bcuz u r sayin poor young girl it doesnt mean that u are belittling her it just shows how sincere u are about her and how u want the best for her so for her u pray...awesome piece and definite fav:)

Loved it when you made certain words concrete through patterned repitition. "... In the corner crying, the baby is crying..." --- It is a sad story, and naevity can be deadly. But it is not her fault. The world can be papercuts and origami.
