Watching you sleep is precious

Time is a blink
And my eyes cannot perceive
The cells being born
And dying upon your face
As putty bones lift up
Chubby cheeks
And make your smile so

…precious

so sleep
hold that dream
in your ever evolving
learning menagerie

when you wake I’ll be ‘Mommy’
and all that entitles
but tomorrow
you’ll learn of my flaws

and I’ll still be immune
