You sittin around and get some random thoughts in your head
Got shit you need to do but you decide to create a write instead
Configure a masterpiece, tuck it away, and it's never read
Just locked up as a captive in your pad until that write becomes dead.

What would poetry be if no one cared enough to write?
If you just stopped pickin up your pen and letting it ignite
to create fiyah thoughts across the page that’s beggin you to recite
so it can hopefully reach other people and switch on their bulb of light.

Mark my words, pay attention, listen to Wiz on this
Without us writing, reading, and performing, poetry would not exist
So do what you can to assist, and never cease and desist
Just persist with your writes, and share them, this I insist.

We perform verbal surgeries of the language like we are docs
Cuttin up and putting together words and phrases that hit heavy like rocks
Thinking outside of the box, to deliver messages that gives shocks
From nerds to jocks, those with talent should invest in poetry like stocks.
Shit, if you don’t believe me then listen to my man Paradox…

Paradox:
You can write a poem, and put some emotional thoughts about your wife into it
and a few verses & hard rhymes, with hard lines about hard times, struggle and strife into it
even include stories of how you got shot or scabbed & stabbed with knife into it
But it means nothing, until somebody reads it, heeds it & breathes some life into it

Stops & go’s, highs & lows, ups & downs, smiles & frowns, I’ve been through it
Attended many sessions of life’s lessons, but instead of stressing, I just use it
As a source of strength, to give a lift, the message behind the gift, but don’t confuse it
You know how many artist, would lose it, if they put out new music & noone ever listened to it?

We choose it, as we amuse it, and others manipulate & use it or whatever what may it
Be, just open your eyes & see, cause there lies the key, its truth & we must face it
The same would go for rims, backboards & basketball courts if no one ever plays it
The entire game, reigns on a psychological plain, used for probable gain, though there are few that’ll admit or say it

That’s even goes for the games on the TV shows, wit host that goes from Bob Barker to Pat Sajak
Yeh I’m afraid that, its all not coincidental, that it all been mental, stretching as far as way back
As far a history goes, but it shouldn’t be no mystery though, cause it’s a straight fact
So just do the math, as you leave an ink path, and you’ll see how & why your poetry will have a great impact.
