Not the traditional response. Just a way to say thank you to Red for her friendship and helping me reach this point. Love ya!
Foolishly placing self
In uncomfortable situations
Repeatedly
Opening a wound
That needs to heal
Her, I want
Though the need
Is uncertain
Warring within self
Is it she
That I love
Or is it
The shared time
Do I crave kisses
Or her kiss
Was the feeling good
Because someone was willing
To be there
Or is her presence
A prerequisite
To my happiness
Foolishly placing self
In uncomfortable situations
Repeatedly
Opening a wound
That needs to heal
Her, I want
Though is it I
That she
With love
One should never have to ask that
Yet, I do
Repeatedly
And I refuse to ask again
If it truly were I
That she
For this
There’d be no need
Foolishly placing self
In uncomfortable situations
Repeatedly
Opening a wound
That needs to heal
Her, I want
Though it isn’t I
That she
So no matter how reluctantly
Leaving is a necessity
Loving me too much
To let a lack of willingness
Destroy my sanity
You have a knack for great songs with a perfect response…I was captivated by the title and the whole piece was so open and honest. I also love the raw emotions in it…Great job Poet
"Foolishly placing self in uncomfortable situations repeatedly opening wounds that needs to heal" <------ This hits so close to home you just have no idea.... Why do we do that, know what we have to do but still and all we don't and know we shouldn't place ourselves back in a certain position bc we already know we will get hurt but still we do. What is the push is it for them or just us remembering the feeling ao it pulls us right back??? Nice flow of emotions.
"Repeatedly
Opening a wound
That needs to heal
Her, I want
Though it isn’t I
That she " that is a hard situation to have to deal with...loving or wanting someone who for whatever reason does not feel the same...it can be heart wrenching...nice drop
