My thighs grip the cool leather
Arms wrapped securely around your waist
Leaning slightly again your back
Our speed cuts through the wind like a knife
Relaxing and letting you be in charge
Watching the scenes as we pass
Making our way out of the city
To the long stretches of country roads
Farm houses fly by as though we are with Dorothy in Kansas
The cows socialize in the field gossiping about the
Handsome bulls who have separated themselves
Knowing the male species, they are probably talking sports
Fields of giant sunflowers stand at attention
Reaching up towards the heavens as in worship
I even notice the possum on the side of the road waiting to cross
I hope that he is patient or he will end up like his cousin we passed about a mile back
A pecan orchard is on the left
Maybe we can stop and pick up a pail full on the way back
Finally stopping at the old country store
I remove my helmet, place it on the handlebars
Grab your hand and walk inside
As we swallow the last drops of our refreshing drink
We gear back up to continue our journey
