"Secret Sixteen"
  by Shira

Sixteen years old.
With a secret to hide.
No one to catch her
When she falls on her behind.
She's hiding a secret
That is wearing her down.
She did some things
While her parents were
Out of town.
She had a party
And had some drinks.
Her friends told her
It wasn't too bad to mix.
The drink in her cup
With the pills that they had.
It will make you feel better,
It won't make you fell bad.
She didn't feel bad,
She thought she felt right.
She went upstairs with a guy,
For the rest of the night.
She woke up to him
Sleeping on top of her.
She could hardly breathe
And she was feeling ill.
He looked at her and said
I'm the third one in here
Since you've taken those pills.
She felt even sicker
Disgusted by the thought.
She thought that the pills
Just made her feel lust.
As she sat in the bathroom
Flooded with tears.
She called out for her friends,
Anyone that was near.
No one answered,
Everyone had gone home.
There the sixteen year old sat,
crying all alone.
And thats how it would be
For the next nine months.
As she hid this dark secret
A baby would come.
Her friends turned on her,
She had no idea
Who could be the father.
As the months had passed
Her parents never questioned.
Too busy with their own lives,
to make a reflection.
She never told anyone,
What had happened that night.
She gave birth to a baby girl.
In the toilet on prom night.
