Feeding them rhymes
Poetry that brings alternative solutions
To government made sedatives; drugs and prostitution
Cutting back on educational funding
Creating correctional institutions
Scrambling minds
Keeping us in a state of confusion
An administration of puppeteers
Giving us strings like acoustic guitars
Pulling us back so that we don’t end up very far

Change ignorance to intelligence
Have kids grow from listening to 50 cent
To owning the corporate dollar
Country teaching our youth
Quick college bound routes
By becoming a martyr
For a country
Led by a president that they don’t believe in
Hundreds of families grieving over a senseless death
Crying over a repeated body
Laid to rest
In a coffin draped in a flag
And simply stated
No one knows what it stands for
