Speechless

I’m so sorry
forgive me if I stare
but it’s rare that I meet a woman
no disrespect but I’ve wasted words
and heard distasteful slurs
from mouths of those that looked the part

Again, forgive the line of questions
but I’m exasperated with guessing
thinking this one is the One
nevertheless, just one of many
silly babies’ mamas upset
at boyfriends who rob their goods in hoods

So I apologize for that too
Because I was once that fool
who played trick for treats out-of-season
with no reason other than bragging right
I’m trying to let you know who you’re dealing with

So, if I appear a little nervous
or over-saturated with questions
I’m simply trying
to remove any assuming or suggestions
on both our parts
and hearts cannot be taken lightly
and if things do not work
let us leave with healthy psyches
because understanding is paramount
and let’s leave no doubt as to who we are
PEOPLE that deserve respect….
