"Summer\'s Demise"
  by vagrom

From the mist of Summer\'s dawn
She
emerges
walking serene strides toward Her prey
eyes gloomy grey in fading moonlight
the ashen resplendence of Her skin silken sullenness replenishing Morn\'s cool anew
lawns\' glistening dew hardening
verdant blades become icy scraps of anguish wilting under pallid feet

trees scream Her descent
Her accession
lush leaves flags of flaming yellows and oranges and
reds blazing bloody murder
refulgent hues denoting decay
the puissance of Her frigid caress

She
beautiful Queen of December solstice
Autumnal Equinox Her devout herald
nourishes the nefariousness within Her heart
the beautiful wretchedness of Her intentions evident to all She passes
the frostiness of Her laugh
intonation of Her indifference and
She
walks

saunters serenely toward Summer
fair hair a beauteous blizzard of snow trailing \'pon harsh winds behind Her and
Summer
seeing Her
smiled

the brightness of His grin alighting the globe
warming the world with its brilliance
He
unafraid and
when Winter ambles in His garden
withering the magentas of marigolds
the violets of bougainvillea
freezing cerulean waters
Summer greets Her
spreads arms wide
intending to embrace His beloved sister
knowing
the wicked design of Her heart and
Winter steps within the loving clutches of Summer
listens to the solar emissions of His vibrant heart and
sinks cold fangs into Her brother\'s throat...

hmmm...very dark piece, tinged with colors so vibrant. Was caught by the language and symbolism captured in the word choice. Felt almost gothic, to me, in creation. I love the description..verdant, cerulean....and the seasons. I saw quite an analogy within.

This is magnificent! Reading it was like seeing a movie play out with all of the mystery and intrigue.

when i read your work, i become a small child in search of invisibility. i become embarrassed. i know it\'s a really insecure statement to make but i honestly feel totally inferior as a poet in comparison. all i can do is look, learn, and hope that one day i can hone my craft, maybe write something as brilliant as this. wow.
